ICL produces calcium carbonate powder and granulates at Scora, a production site located in Caffiers, France. This product line, which is named Scoralite®, has unique characteristics that support specific pharma, cosmetic and food industry needs.
Our precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) is known for its unique purity and cubic shape, which, alongside an advanced proprietary production method, help form chewable tablets with superior mouthfeel, exceptional whiteness levels and optimal smoothness. Mainly used as an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) for the prophylactic and therapeutic treatment of osteoporosis, Scoralite® can also be utilized in other medicinal applications. The powder grade is manufactured under strict GMP II regulations.
Scoralite® is also granulated in a state-of-the art facility with different types of binders, to convert the material into direct compressible grades for tablet manufacturing. Classified under French law as a medicine, Scoralite ® DC granulates are manufactured under high GMP I standards.
