Bromine and its bromide derivatives represent an electrochemical couple around which various technologies have been developed for electrical energy storage applications. For example, bromine/hydrobromic acid are being developed for flow cell batteries, and bromine/zinc bromide is now in commercial stage of development for energy storage.

Realizing the opportunities that exist for innovative electrical energy storage, ICL-IP has set up an electrochemical laboratory in support of developmental activities in bromine based energy storage solutions. Our expertise in safe bromine handling is already used by developers of such systems.
